About the Role:

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our Product Development team at GMP MediTech, Visnagar, Gujarat.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of orthopedic implants, surgical instruments, and related components using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to bring new product designs from concept to production.
• Revise and update existing designs to improve manufacturability, performance, or compliance.
• Conduct tolerance analysis, material selection, and basic mechanical calculations.
• Prepare and maintain product documentation, including BOM, part drawings, and design validation records.
• Coordinate with tooling and manufacturing teams to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
• Support the regulatory team with technical documentation for CE, ISO 13485, and other submissions.
• Participate in design verification and validation activities such as prototyping, testing, and risk analysis.
• Ensure designs meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
• Assist in developing jigs, fixtures, and custom tools for production and testing.
• Maintain revision control and document management practices.
• Stay updated with advancements in CAD, design standards, and orthopedic technologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in the medical device or orthopedic industry.
• Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and mechanical design principles.
• Experience with orthopedic implant design and surgical instrument development is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485, CE, and FDA design documentation requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
